Hi, I’m Anthony Carbone, a Toronto-based sports journalist and the founder of NHL Hot Topics. I’m a recent graduate of the University of Toronto, where I completed a joint program earning an Honours BA in Journalism from U of T along with an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Contemporary Journalism from Centennial College.
My goal is simple: to build a career covering the games that bring people together. I’m passionate about reporting, analyzing, and breaking down sports stories with depth, clarity, and personality. Whether it’s NHL headlines, trade rumours, locker-room dynamics, or big-game performances, I aim to deliver informed commentary that connects with fans.
My background in both playing and refereeing competitive sports — including hockey and soccer — gives me a well-rounded understanding of the game from multiple perspectives. I understand the athlete mindset, the pressure of big moments, and the details that often go unnoticed.

Beyond writing, I’ve built my own digital sports brand, @ACSportsTalk, where I create and share sports content across all platforms. Through video analysis, commentary, and real-time reactions, I’ve developed experience in digital storytelling, audience engagement, and building a consistent voice in the sports media space.
Thanks for visiting my website. If you love smart, passionate sports coverage, be sure to follow @ACSportsTalk across all platforms and join the conversation.
